The Simpsons!

Remember that time Homer went to the electric chair and was about to be executed? but then some curtain drew, lights & cameras popped out, and it turned out he was on a reality TV show called "Frame Up"? Then the old lady who he supposedly killed came out and it turns out she was Carmen Electra? Oooh maaaan, I really thought he was going to die. I almost cried. I mean... if I were the type of person that cries easily. cause I don't. Well, I gotta hurry up and write this post so I can grill up that steak.

In any case, The Simpsons Movie is coming out 7/27 and Hans Zimmer is doing the soundtrack. I want this. I'm serious. I want this bad. real bad. I don't know if the Simpsons TV theme song will be on the soundtrack, but just so you know... I played it in band in high school. Who's big shit now buddy? This is gonna be the best movie eveeeeeer!

I need your feedback on this video. I don't care what you say. I'm a fan of a lot of Kanye's work. I know you're not though. So this video is like a combination of two completely opposite things for you. Kind of like peanut butter and shirimp. or Gravy on salad. or whatever the opposite of bananas are. I personally like french fries and ice cream though, but that's a tangent. So what do you think?

Mmmm burrito

by Andrew Jeffrey Wright

The FADER blog did a post entitled "Magnificent Seven" in which they are giving away some free limited edition 7" vinyl. Although I love the word "free," those minds at The FADER are sharp... because they probably know that another word my fellow vinyl collectors love is "limited." Shit man, throw in the words "burrito," "money," "sunshine," "sexy people," and "burrito" and let's call it a day. You had me at burrito. Head on over there to grab some free vinyl! Tell them KIR Radio sent you and you'll automatically win. Sike, I'm lying. but who knows. maybe it'll work!

Plastic Little: Remix of the Remix of the Remix Remix Contest Semifinals

Oh Shit, I guess I still DO love rap music. I'll admit that we may not have been on the best of terms lately. and we may not be iiin love anymore, but we've decided to have an open relationship. It's a long story really. and I still have to make it up.

In any case, Plastic Little and TTL launched their "Remix of the Remix of the Remix Remix Contest" a while back and the homie Nosaj Thing entered that shit. Although all the semifinalist snippet mp3s are now up on Shesmature, I'm gonna have to be partial to Nosaj Thing. The dood has been paying dues. He killed it at the recent Low End Theory Unreleased Beat Invitational #2. He won the last Project Blowed Beat Battle. He's played KIR Radio live:) and his beats are just plain dope. Hear for yourself below. Our fingers are crossed over here.

Left Coast Love

It's always good to hear a little history. Especially hearing that these guys were friends since the first grade. Repeat, the first grade. I just find that impressive. and DOPE. I also find it fun to hear stories involving people you look up to in a "this dood" type manner. Like when A Plus goes, "...Del was rappin' with this dood Dshane."

I don't know if it's just me, but I tend to get curious about doods like Dshane. I'm thinking, what happened to Dshane? Where is Dshane now? Is he living nice? I guess I just look at the doods who disappear into obscurity for guidance because being alpha dog isn't really my thing. Just sayin.

Bobmo

I undoubtedly do despise my writing, but I will promise to try and never change a word ever again. I'll leave my wack writing in the open as a way to kick myself in the ass and hopefully improve my writing. Human Being said to never say anything bad about myself because it just makes me look bad. I'm gonna write this anyways and I'm probably going to want to delete it later, so this will be the start then. Now enough of my lala talk.

This one is for the electronic kids out there who like to dance, jump and party. Just so you know, I like to party too. From what I've listened to, this kid Bobmo is dope. Part of it is the fact that the kid is a KID and he's making moves with the right people. I ran into Bobmo from a Surkin post on Bigstereo. So you should look for a Surkin Bobmo collabo called High Powered Boys. If you didn't know already, you can trust Bigstereo to bring you to that kind of heat. Fuck man, why do I always tell you people where I get this stuff from? Sharing is seriously really hard for me. and it's not like I'm getting paid or even get a 'thank you' from this shit anyway. Geez. My bad, you can probably get this somewhere else on the blogosphere anyway. and there are other tracks out there to be had too. But here you go!!! Woohoo! Yeeeeah. Paaaaarty tiiiime!!! Get freeeaky!!! p.s. I hate me:)

Nine:Fifteen

Sometimes when I'm kickin it by myself I think, 'Dang I need some friends.' But then there are times I run across a little something special in the inbox. I click a link and hear a few songs in which I am completely fine with as being my friends for the evening. It's just that for some reason I feel like these dudes are my friends, but they're not. It would be cool if they were though cause then maybe I could be touring all over Europe and whatever with them. Now I hope they don't read this cause that would be embarrassing and I don't want to be known as dong-yanker fan-boy. Too late. So I'm just gonna do the wussy wussy fan-boy thing I do and write about how much I think their music is real dope. I hope that's alright with you. I won't go on for too long though, but let me just say. They just might actually make me really get back into Hip Hop. Yes, it's true. I'm sorry, but I've strayed for a while. I feel like I've been listening to it for so long I can do that though, no?

In any case, remember when I was talking about Count Bass D and talkin' about how he's got crazy style, like more than mom's old clothes and all that? Well these doods must drink the same water, breathe the same air, eat the same food, or breast feed from the same magic music momma or something like that (just sayin) because their music has got mad crazy style too. As a matter of fact, Blake9 the producer for the crew Nine:Fifteen (which consists of Blake9 and Comel_15 whom you probably know from Time Machine) put out an EP out called Art For Art's Sake with Count Bass D. Comel actually peeped me on it because I was interested in a song I heard from a Mekalek mixtape Jaysonic passed my way. and this dood Mike actually peeped me on Time Machine, but that's another story.

Well who the hell am I talking about? Actually, I really can't say because there is no one name to call them under. For this post specifically (but not to take away from the rest of them) I'll call them Nine:Fifteen, Time Machine and all their friends because all of 'em are good. Seriously. but everything I have ever heard from this group of artists in the past 6 years or so has been consistently freaking dope. and if you don't know, that is seriously a lot to say. It's the consistency man. You probably know them as People Under The Stairs, Giant Panda, Tres, Glow In The Dark, and everyone else I named earlier in this post.

So to cut a long story short and say something really cool, "I like makin beats, makin love and makin dinner" so I gotta jet right now (my boo's callin) but check out the upcoming 12" from Nine:Fifteen. It's called Walking Thru Fire. Trust me.

Nine:Fifteen - Spilt Milk (mp3) from Mekalek's Killer Tape Pt.III

Blake9 & Count Bass D - Gamble ft. Comel_15 (mp3) from Art For Art's Sake
Blake9 & Count Bass D - Missy Prissy (mp3) from Art For Art's Sake
